Life is too short

"Life is too short to worry yourself about people who don't deserve to be an issue in your life."

pinned on my words of wisdom

Thank you to everyone who left me a nice note. You guys made me laugh and helped me pick myself back up. I cried a bit, took a nice long nap (thank you, my love) and all was well again. Life is too short and I have too many people who I love and that love me back to shed any more tears over Mr. Sperm Donor (as Nate lovingly calls him). Pity Party's OVER!

Now I just have to decide how to go forward from here. I know I'm going to, eventually, try and contact other members of Doug's (yup! That's his name) family but I'm not sure who and how to do it.

I could try and contact one of his sisters (he has three) to find out if it would really traumatize his parents. I don't want to cause them pain and if his sisters agree that it would be too hard I will leave them alone. Then I could see if his sisters can discreetly gather a comprehensive health history for me.

But according to my grandma (aka GG) any grandparents would be happy to find out they have more grandchildren...unless there's something wrong with them. Oh, and she's going to help me with the genealogy too so I've got that covered.

So I could just straight up contact Guy and Sheila. I was thinking a letter might be the most unobtrusive or I could call or, considering I found their home address (thank you google), I could show up at their doorstep. (Don't worry. I'm not really going to show up at their door...but wouldn't it be funny? I could swing by Doug's house on my way...haha)

What would your next move be? I would love your insight!

And, because someone asked, here's the next room on your tour of the house.

Notice the BARE walls. Do you have a favorite place for children's artwork? I'm looking for something with a retro feel.

Even with the bare walls I love his room. It feels so bright and happy.

Thank you again for your kind words! You made my day better.

So glad you're feeling better! And I hope some chocolate was involved in that short pity party you threw yourself! That is the key ingredient to making me feel better after a disappointment! ;-)
As for Preston's room...adorable! I happen to be a freak about design and I know of a website that has a bunch of "Freebies" that you can print off to display on his wall! Free is always a great word, right? The website is:

http://www.thehandmadehome.net/category/freebies/

I adore her blog and get inspiration from her all the time. Check it out and see if anything catches your eye.
I'll let you know if I happen across some other art work that has a retro feel to it!
Good luck and have fun decorating!!

Ikea has such delightful and whimsical fabric, don't they? My parents bought that set for the girls' room at their house. I love it! Now...MORE PICS!!!

In regard to your bio dad's stupid response to your very reasonable requests for information, I have to say that the only people who don't love you are the ones who have not yet met you. When you are ready to make the next move, I would not hesitate to contact his folks. Why should they be deprived of the opportunity to get to know you just because of his issues?
